Mr. Fries Man
These are the small size!
Who doesn't love fries? The best carbohydrate in all the land. But imagine if you could kick it up a notch and add some crab legs? Shrimp? Buffalo Chicken? How about some Smokey Bacon? Guess what??? The place exists in a strip mall in Gardena California and it is quit the sight to see.
We stopped in right before the rush and were overwhelmed by the choices.
Chicken Bacon Parmesan.
Lemon Garlic Steak.
BBQ Bacon Ranch Chicken.
Buffalo Shrimp.
Surf and Turf.
And those are just a few. We literally salivated the whole time that we talked to the nice lady at the counter. She helped us decide on two flavors but still had FOMO even after placing the order. We settled on two small Chicken Bacon Ranch and Lemon Garlic Shrimp and Snow Crab.
It's a small space with only a few booths and a couple of tables but we lucked up and scored a table right by the window (good lighting for pictures). The only draw back with the window was that they dont have a curtain or awning so it shines right through with no protection (it was about 80 something degrees that day so we had to improvise).
Small Chicken Bacon Ranch
When the fries came out it was like a halo floated over them. They were packed with chicken, shrimp and crab and they weren't stingy about it any of the fixings...The portion was so big for a small. I can't imagine what the large looked like (a heart attack probably).
At first bite I thought "what an interesting combo, pretty tasty..." but then I knew it was missing something... a little more seasoning.
The FRIES needed some seasoning salt and pepper! I went to the counter to grab some but was given a plastic cup with seasoning inside. But see at this point the fries are covered in the delicious part and getting to them with the seasoning is damn near impossible. Anyway...
Next we thought, lets get some hot sauce (which they offer for a $1 extra). Added that and that gave it a little spunk but it was still missing that seasoning. :( It's like frying the delicious crispy McDonald's fries and forgetting to shake them up with salt! Mistake, mistake, mistake! We ate it anyway though. He sprinkles parsley over every plate to make it look pretty (because it surely has no flavor) but I would much rather that green be green onions or cilantro to be honest, right?
So yeah, would I go back? I would. I'd just make sure that I put in that salt & pepper seasoning request upon ordering. I also would avoid the shrimp (though they give you a nice portion, they're the tiny ones that don't pack as much flavor). Really dope idea and it's a black owned business.
